Writer.
I have been a writer for 5 years! Given that I started off my career working for a Senator, a Mayor, and being an executive at a non-profit, most of my writings are about the comedy that can be found in normal workplace environments.
Writing Samples
My pilot, Wildest Dreams (Half-Hour Dramedy) , follows the journey of Amara, an indecisive, conflict-averse and recently engaged millennial. She lands a once in a lifetime opportunity, but the only thing getting in her way is life itself.
My second pilot, Blackjack (Half-Hour Dramedy), is based an a award-winning short film I wrote. Here’s the logline: After marrying the city’s most powerful billionaire, her boss, Nicole Tesi is forced out of the company by the board. With the help of her scheming coworkers, she enters a ruthless fight for control, where sabotage might just be on the menu.
I have submitted these pilots to screenwriter programs and have received these awards:
Disney Entertainment Television Writing Program Semi-Finalist for the Class of 2026
Black Boy Writes & Black Girl Writes Mentorship Initiative Quarterfinalist for the Class of 2026
I also have an Abbott Elementary spec script titled “School Play,” which focuses on Janine’s journey to put on a school production, while Barbara teaches Gregory how to sew.
Audio Podcasts
I am currently working for Pocket FM as a Head Writer. The audio podcast I wrote, The Undercover Billionaire, can be listened to on the Pocket FM App! It has over 2 million plays and counting.
Web Series
I worked in the writer’s room for the web series, Homegirls Season 2, which finished filming in February! I wrote episodes 2 and 5. I also supported production as a writer on set. The show will officially premiere on SlatedTV on Friday, December 5th! It will also be streaming at the top of the year on Amazon and two other platforms.
Short Films
My short film Blackjack is a horror comedy centering on Nicole Tesi, who has a hard time choosing between her romantic partner and her work besties. I wrote this film and I also played the character, Nicole Tesi. This short won the Audience Choice award out of 78 films at the Los Angeles 48 Hour Horror Comedy Film Festival.
I have also written 2 other short films, Angela’s Tale and Spy Her Man. Angela’s Tale won Best Regional Short at the Gary International Black Film Festival and Spy Her Man was a project I completed for the Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Festival.
This year, I wrote the short Out Of Time for the Collaboration Filmmakers Challenge and won Semi-Finalist.
